Chabot Game Lab
--Hello, Traveler...
The Chabot Game Lab, led by Prof. Jared Gochuico P.E., is a cross-collaborative student-driven club at Chabot College. Students from all majors are invited to develop video games (digital and board games), art, music, programming, and STEM skills in a supportive environment.
The vision of the Game Lab is to create an open, academic space for creative game development that ranges from interaction design to playing games and programming. Touch-based microcontrollers that play Fruit Simon Says and 8-bit PICO Flappy Bird-style games are some recent examples.

The Game Lab's activities include annual game jams, research opportunities, hackathons, and student showcases. The Game Lab hosted a guest speaker on video game music production. At the end of every semester, the Game Lab also hosts an Arcade Day, where students and faculty from departments throughout the college are invited to play games together.
The Game Lab is supported by the Chabot MESA/Trio-STEM (Mathematics Engineering Science Achievement) and an HSI STEM Grant. It was established in the Fall of 2022.
